Christina Rein

Christina Rein is an exerienced criminal defense and family law attorney practicing in the northern counties of Illinois.

Family Law. Christina is a skilled and dedicated attorney who has extensive knowledge and experience representing both men and women in family law cases. She vehemently works to protect her client’s rights, whether it be parents’ rights or spousal rights. Christina has vast knowledge and experience litigating divorce cases, post-decree cases and custody cases and always fiercely advocates on her client’s behalf. The needs of her client and the children always come first.

Criminal Law. Christina is also a skilled and aggressive criminal defense attorney who handles all criminal matters, including DUI cases, traffic tickets, crriminal misdemeanors and serious felony matters. She has extensive experience defending clients across Kane, McHenry, Lake and DuPage counties.

Christina grew up in the Chicago suburbs and has worked, studied and practiced locally her entire life. She attended the University of Illinois at Chicago for her undergraduate studies where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics, with a concentration in International Business. She pursued her academic career briefly at Loyola University in Chicago where she studied economics further at a graduate level.

Christina then went on to study law at Northern Illinois University where she graduated with a Juris Doctorate degree. While in law school, she began her career in criminal defense while interning at the Boone County Public Defender’s office.

Her courtroom and trial experience began there as well. Upon graduation, Christina joined the Crystal Lake firm of KRV Legal as an associate attorney, where she practiced criminal defense and family law in Kane, McHenry and Lake counties.

Christina now practices out of her Lake Zurich office with a satellite location in Cary, Illinois. She continues to concentrate in criminal defense and family litigation serving clients throughout Lake and McHenry counties. Having been born in Ukraine, Christina is fluent in Ukrainian and has a working knowledge of the Russian language. She also works with Spanish and Polish interpretors to cater to her Spanish and Polish speaking clients.

Michael G. Rein

Michael is a founding principal with R & I Law Group. He has broad experience litigating in both Illinois State Court and Federal District Court throughout Illinois as well as representing professionals before state agencies. Michael zealously advocates for our clients’ interests. He draws on his extensive experience to efficiently analyze complex claims to narrow the issues and develop a comprehensive strategy. Michael prides himself on building and maintaining strong relationships with our clients in order to keep our clients fully informed and involved in their case or other matter that we are handling.

Prior to forming R & I Law Group, Michael was an associate with a prominent civil litigation firm located in downtown Chicago for five years where he represented individuals, professionals, health care groups, insurance clients, state agencies and corporate entities. Before entering private practice, Michael worked for the Office of the Chief Judge of Cook County, Illinois. He served as the Law Clerk and Staff Attorney to multiple judges including the Honorable Thomas P. Quinn for three years. Michael’s experience as a Law Clerk and Staff Attorney provided him with invaluable insight into the judiciary, which enables him to advocate our clients’ interests.

During law school, Michael maintained his course load as a night student while successfully clerking full time in the Circuit Court of Cook County Law Division. While in law school, Michael was a member of the executive board of The Journal of Computer and Information Law, the Justinian Society and the Trial Advocacy and Dispute Resolution Honors Council. Additionally, Michael received a number of honors and scholarships. He is a CALI award recipient (family law), a member of the Dean’s list, a Louis L. Biro Scholar and a Dean’s Scholarship recipient.

Michael is a licensed Illinois Real Estate Managing Broker. Currently, Michael is an active member of the Chicago Bar Association, where he is a member of the Tort Litigation Committee, as well as the Judicial Evaluation Committee.
